The panels are warranted for 25 years, during which time the total projected saved by the 3kW solar system will total $26,314.  Maintenance fees can be expected during the life of the system totaling around $3,000. Having a solar system also increases the value of your home for resale.    This savings is calculated by the first year’s energy savings times the system life in years ($836x20=$20,900)

*During year 6, the total out of pocket expense of $5,000 will be fully paid for by electric utility saving.
